WHEN YOU CAN'T TAKE WHAT YOU ARE DISHING OUT TO OTHERS
Today, I just want to chip in some things about one of the social ills or 'happenstances' in our society.
With my heading, I'm sure you'll be wonduring what I'm up to ,but it's just an observation I made a while ago. I found out that humans don't normally like taking what they dish out to others, poeple don't like taking the rubbish, ill manners, disrespects, maltreatment, ,wickedness. ---(you can name them) that they normally serve their fellow humans, forgetting that the Bible admonished us to treat others the way we'll like to be treated as well.
An incidence prompted this very post anyway. A neighbour was narrating to my superior at work how a lady , (the said lady, whom I know very well is their regular client )let's call her A , came to buy goods and was insisting that she would be given a discount ,neighbour N, attributed her insistence to entitlement mentality , adding that it was because she got a discount on that particular product the last time she bought it. A mild argument ensued between N and A, and N's boss eventually got wind of it and resolved the issue, though I don't know how it was resolved anyway.
After narrating the brouhaha to my superior, my superior who's always in the habit of talking down on ladies chipped in in igbo "....I maghi na nkita rachara ųmų nwanyi anya...?" I don't even know how to translate it as it means different things, from ". ..don't you know that women are shameless. .." to "...don't you know that women are rotten, useless ..." etc.And they were laughing with glee. I honestly felt bad but I did like I didn’t hear any of it.
When my superior got closer to where I was, he repeated the same statement again , laughing as he said it, and I told him "...your wife is a woman too o.." na so guy man change face, started warning and threatening me not to ever mention his wife again. Like seriously! Oga, so your wife is an angel /saint but nkita rachara other women, including other people's wives and daughters anya, odiegwu o,lol.
I kept cool and was just looking at him and wondering how people reason at times.
Please, when someone wrongs or offends you, deal with the issue and with the person at hand, let's stop this habit of generalising and crucifying all genders, groups, tribes or ethnicity, it doesn't in anyway depict civilisation at all.
Thanks for reading.
I earnestly await your opinions in form of comments.
Until next time, remain blessed.
